After successful participation in the “Bulgaria Open” international tournament, in which the Razgrad athletes won 2 medals and improved 2 records, they continued their participation in the European Youth Cup in Sofia.
A record number of participants – 342 from 27 countries, a competition of a large scale and a challenge for every athlete. The Bulgarian national team consisted of 19 competitors in the various categories and groups.
In the qualification at the compound, Tsveta Doseva from SC “Antibiotic” shot superbly, literally breaking the 2×50 m record – 653 points and improving it by 61 points. This result ranked her in 10th place, which is a real surprise for everyone, presented by an absolute debutant.
In the elimination rounds, Tsveta Doseva reached the 1/8 finals, where she faced a British woman and by the third series she was leading by 1 point, and one six separated her from the sensation. She dropped out, but her ranking in 9th place is more than a success, and the Briton reached the bronze. Experience and weapons, of course, showed their importance.
Angel Nikolov took a lower position in the qualification. In the eliminations in windy weather, his chances were up to the 1/24 final, where he dropped out and ranked 33rd.
The club congratulates coach Boyan Bonev, who managed to prepare and adapt the competitors to such a big competition.
