Municipal Council – Pleven meets on Thursday according to an agenda of 35 points – Pleven press

Municipal Council – Pleven, meets for a meeting on Thursday, April 25, at 09:00 a.m. in the Conference Hall of the Municipality of Pleven in the “Gena Dimitrova” building. The preliminary agenda of the councilors includes 35 items, the last of which is a question from a municipal councilor, reports the press center of the local parliament. The meeting will begin with the visit of children from “Vasil Levski” Elementary School, Pleven, who will greet the local parliament on the occasion of the upcoming spring holidays.

The first item on the agenda is a proposal to honor the professional boxer Yosif Panov with the title “Honorary Citizen of Pleven Municipality”. The proposal was submitted by the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Prof. Dr. Ivan Malkodanski, after the same was discussed and supported by the Commission under Ordinance No. 11 of the Municipal Council – Pleven, to be awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Pleven”. Panov is 26 years old and already has 23 victories behind him. He is the champion of Bulgaria in 2018, international champion in 2021 and world champion in 2023. He is a graduate of the “Georgi Benkovski” Sports School, Pleven.

The second item on the agenda is a report on the implementation in 2023 of the activities under the Waste Management Program 2021-2028 and environmental protection activities of the municipality of Pleven for 2023. The program was developed in implementation of the Law on the Protection of the environment and the Waste Management Act.

The meeting will continue with the discussion of amendments to decisions of the Municipal Council adopted in previous meetings. The first change concerns the decision on the budget for the current year, adopted in February. The proposed changes are for two of the planned events included in the Cultural Calendar /Appendix 13/ of the Municipality. The second proposed amendment is in a decision from March 2018. The same applies to the management of a property by SO “Danail Popov” in Pleven.

This month, the municipal councilors will consider a proposal by which they will assign the mayor Dr. Valentin Hristov to represent the Municipality of Pleven in the General Assembly of the non-profit association “Northwest Regional Innovation Center for Mechatronics and Industrial Technologies”, scheduled for April 30 at 5:00 p.m. . The municipality of Pleven is a member of the association, according to the decision of the local parliament of March 2020.

The seventh item on the preliminary agenda is giving consent to the application of the Municipality of Pleven in a competition announced by the Agency for People with Disabilities at the MTSP for financing projects for the construction of an accessible architectural environment for cultural, historical and sports sites. The project proposal is under component 3 – for the construction of new and reconstruction of existing lifting facilities (elevators or lift platforms) for use by persons from the target group.

Three of the items included in the agenda of the meeting in April concern three of the kindergartens on the territory of the city of Pleven. The first of them is for the design and construction of a physical culture and music hall in the DG “Sturche”. The second proposal is for a major renovation, introduction of energy efficiency measures and an extension for the construction of a gymnasium and music hall in the “Zornitsa” DG. And the third – a proposal for a major overhaul, introduction of energy efficiency measures of DG “Happy Childhood”.

The municipal council of Pleven will also discuss this month the creation of a Public Council on the problems of economic and investment policy. One of the council’s tasks will be to ensure the participation of a wide range of representatives of civil society and business in public and economic life and to serve as a permanent form of dialogue between the Municipal Council and the structures of civil society and business.

The April regular meeting also includes: Adoption of the Regulations for the work of the Municipal Fund “Culture”; Report on the implementation of the Program for the development of tourism in the municipality of Pleven in 2023 and a proposal for a new program for the current year; Proposal for the Annual Program for the Development of Community Center Activities in Pleven Municipality for 2024; Conclusion of a new Memorandum of Cooperation between the Municipality of Pleven and BAS; settlement of relations between the Municipality of Pleven and individuals regarding real estate, etc.
