Two tenth graders from PGSAG “Angel Popov” visited Ecomuseum Ruse, where they held open lessons on geography and economics.

They were presented by teachers Galina Asenova, who is a senior teacher of geography and economics, and Svetla Grozeva – a senior teacher of biology and health education. They were joined by the museum specialists in the Ecomuseum with Aquarium.

By visiting the eco-museum, the students learned about the prehistory of the Danube region, learned about the biodiversity along the Danube and Ruse Lom, and discovered the natural attractions around Ruse. On Earth Day, they also observed human intervention and the changes it causes in nature and the animal world.

“It was also of great importance for our students from the “Construction and Architecture” and “Architectural Restoration” majors that they had the opportunity to look at the architecture in the central part of Ruse, which is in Baroque and Rococo style from the end of XIX century and the beginning of XX century. Of course, they also found an identical one to our construction high school in the Danube city,” the school shared.

The group leaders used the travel time to provide the students with very useful information about the population, features and history of Ruse. On the way to Veliko Tarnovo, they also held an entertaining quiz in which the students actively participated and showed that learning through experience leads to lasting knowledge.

After the return of the group of tenth graders, there is another interesting task ahead. They will prepare a map of the Danube moisture-loving ecosystems, their flora, fauna and their conservation with the help of the GIS geodetic system, they will prepare multimedia presentations presenting the coexistence of man with nature, the diversity of animal species and the protected areas along the Danube River, and interactive games , related to the flora and fauna along the Danube river valley. They will be presented in a school performance as a final product of the realized visit to the museum.
