The program is aimed at children and their families and aims to teach them to recognize the symptoms of a stroke and to act quickly and correctly in an emergency. “Quick Heroes 112” relies on children’s natural enthusiasm to share their knowledge at home so that everyone in the family can recognize the signs of a stroke.

In Stara Zagora, a health and educational program “Fast Heroes 112” will be implemented. It will cover 3,000 children aged 6 to 10 years. It is carried out with the support of the Municipality of Stara Zagora, Lions Club Stara Zagora – Augusta, Lions New Voices and “Heart to Heart for Bulgaria” Foundation.

Earlier today, in the “P.R. Slaveykov” municipal hall, training on the program began, which was attended by directors of kindergartens and schools and representatives of educational institutions.

“I am extremely excited that the Municipality of Stara Zagora will be part of this initiative together with the Stara Zagora Lions Club and the “Heart to Heart for Bulgaria” Foundation. The fight and prevention of these conditions is extremely valuable to us, because our action here and now can save human lives,” Stanimira Dimitrova, head of the Education Department in Stara Zagora Municipality, said at the beginning of the training.

Anastasia Gidikova, Past President of Lions Club Stara Zagora – Augusta thanked the Municipality of Stara Zagora for its support and reminded that the “Fast Heroes 112” project has already been implemented in several kindergartens and schools in Stara Zagora.

“For the Lions movement, it is important that we are where we are needed. The children are the ones who need us when they are growing up, getting educated and gaining skills and knowledge, and of course we have to teach them to be human, who take care of their own health and the conductors in telling their parents, grandparents to also take care of their health, let’s give them some knowledge and skills through which they can be the heroes at a certain moment”, stressed Gidikova.

The program was presented by its national coordinator Elitsa Hadjivalcheva.

“Fast Heroes 112” was launched in Bulgaria in April 2021 and is supported by the World Stroke Organization, Angels Initiative, World Health Organization (WHO) and UNESCO with the “Schools for Health in Europe” initiative . It is specially designed to be interesting, fun and age-appropriate for children. It was developed by top specialists in neurocognitive disorders, university professors, school pedagogues and child psychologists. Children work and have fun with educational kits that include various stories, applications, color cards, application materials and posters, watch animated educational videos, create masks and costumes of super heroes themselves.
