“The topics of the labor market, of social relations, of the competitiveness of the labor force and of Bulgarian business should be leading in social policy. Today I assured the business representatives at the National Business Forum in Sofia that I will work for this within the next parliament and with the next administration of the country”, said the deputy from Dobrich from GERB and chairperson of the parliamentary committee on labor and social policy Denitsa Sacheva. According to her, at the moment these policies are greatly underestimated in the portfolio of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The first changes to labor legislation were adopted in 2017. Since then, there has been no significant progress. On the contrary, most of the problems are getting worse. The shortage of jobs is increasingly felt in companies outside the big cities. Very often people with specific qualifications are needed – welders, electricians, mechanics with better technical literacy and many others. Employers’ problems are diverse and there are no one-size-fits-all solutions.
“Everything that business expects to happen as changes is a matter of management stability, concrete and well-directed actions on its part, as well as sufficient capacity in the state administration to develop workable solutions. It is time to find individuals who to take over the various portfolios and implement both the management policy and the legislative decisions of the Parliament,” Denitsa Sacheva also pointed out.
