After 11 examinations and over 30 interviews: Adrian dragged Yavor’s body 300 m with his car, Ani flew out 51 m

18-year-old Adrian Antonov dragged the body of Yavor Stoyanov with his car for about 300 meters before it crashed through the windshield into the passenger compartment. The body of Anna-Maria Milcheva flew 51 meters away. These details about the accident on the capital’s “Slivnitsa” Blvd. on May 8, 2023. revealed at a briefing the deputy city prosecutor of Sofia Desislava Petrova, after the SGP took Antonov to court.

The charge is for causing death by negligence. Prosecutor Petrova explained that the speed limit, the pedestrian crossing and other rules were ignored. 17 witnesses and 14 experts were questioned, 11 expert reports were prepared, and there are other pieces of evidence, including video recordings.

Based on them, the prosecutor from the city prosecutor’s office came to the conclusion that with 106 km/h. the accused, driving a Ford K passenger car on a straight stretch of road, well lit with artificial street lighting, hit Yavor and Ani crossing the pedestrian path, as a result of which their bodies were put on the front cover of the car, they collided in the front panoramic glass, having broken it, the deputy city prosecutor of Sofia told journalists.

The girl’s body was thrown and fell on the roadway 51 meters from the impact site. The boy’s body cut into the windshield and partially entered the passenger compartment of the car. So he continued his movement for another 300 meters and the boy’s body also fell out. Both pedestrians died on the spot.

The accused was remanded in custody, which was amended in a signature by the court at the request of the defense counsel. “Since then, the accused has behaved in a proper procedural manner, there has been no reason to delay the investigation, he has been discovered by us when necessary to conduct procedural actions,” explained prosecutor Petrova.

In addition to the “signature” measure against Adrian Antonov, procedural coercion measures have also been taken – a ban on leaving the country and temporary revocation of the driver’s license. The driver did not use alcohol or drugs, and he voluntarily gave samples, added the deputy city prosecutor. She compared the situation with the one in the “Semerjiev” case, where it is also about an accident in a road section which, although straight, is in the off-peak part of the day, when there is no intense traffic. The accident with Ani and Yavor happened 17 minutes after midnight.
