Zlatislava Chukanova won Bulgaria’s third medal at the European Boxing Championships in Belgrade after qualifying for the semi-finals in the women’s 50kg category.

With the success, the native athlete guarantees at least bronze from the championship in Serbia, and to enter the top four, she managed to fight off the Pole Natalia Kuczewska, demonstrating a good and varied game.

Under the guidance of coaches Borislav Georgiev and Roman Tsvetkov, Zlatislava played a very solid match in which she pressured her opponent at every convenient moment and dictated the pace to secure her first major championship honor of her career.

The Bulgarian prevailed with a 5-0 vote, and so on Friday (April 25) Zlatislava Chukanova will step into the ring again in a dispute for a place in the 50 kg final against Nina Radovanovic of Serbia.

We remind you that earlier today Sevda Asenova also reached the semi-finals in the category up to 48 kg, with which she also guaranteed herself a minimum bronze medal from the championship of the Old Continent.
