Parents from Plovdiv are raising the alarm about incident at a children’s educational center in the city where their son was injured.

The child has a broken mouth, a broken tooth and bruises after visiting the center. The boy, who is one year and 11 months old, is with medium bodily harm. This is shown by the examination of forensic doctors, reports NOVA.

Vasil Kanev, father of the injured child, stated that still they have no explanations. He added that he wanted the institutions to take measures. Kanev said that according to the staff of the children’s center, the child fell in the yard.

“If that was the case, there would be scuffs or scrapes. I am reporting to all law enforcement agencies. I also want the NRA to come in to check the center. For 7 months, we have not received any receipt for the payments we make”, said the father.

According to him, the family is extremely affected and they want law enforcement to do their job. They demand to know if the childcare center in question has a license for the activities being carried out. According to him, this is the second incident in the last four months, and before that their son was bitten by another child.

The manager of the establishment, Petya Paunova, said that the incident happened in the yard. “There were 11 children with 3 teachers on the spot. The child tripped. Until the age of three, children do not have a reflex to protect themselves in the event of a fall.

I stand behind my staff. They treat the children as their own. There is no violence. The child fell, hit his tooth, as a result of which his tooth was broken.” Paunova added. She said the child was sent to a doctor and dentist.

The manager of the center added that the facility is an educational children’s center, a not kindergarten. According to her, only kindergartens have a license. According to the words, the object is not under video surveillance. “We work 100% legally”, she said.

The father specified that, in his opinion, Paunova’s words did not correspond to the truth and he would do anything possible to clarify the facts surrounding the incident.

In the late afternoon The State Agency for Child Protection announced that she had self-referred to the case.

In the DAZP no report was filed related to the children’s education center cited in the media. After the media publications, the agency promptly referred and requested information from the competent institutions. After receiving the information from them, the SAPD will assess the need for follow-up actions by the agency, they say.
