“Elena Yoncheva hit the moral bottom. It’s still hard for me to believe it. I don’t want to believe it, but her words are in front of my eyes – she accepted the DPS nomination as recognition for the work she did. And it became painfully clear to me that she will We see her as a candidate from their list. But this is her problem. Moral, ethical, but hers.”

This is what former BSP MP Alexander Simov wrote on his Facebook profile regarding the news that the DPS structure in Blagoevgrad has nominated Elena Yoncheva for its list for the European elections on June 9. Earlier, she commented to BTA that she accepts the nomination as “recognition of everything she has achieved in the European Parliament for Bulgaria”.

In a long and informative post, Simov expresses his disappointment with Yoncheva, who is an MEP from the BSP. She was the leader of the leftist list for the Euro vote in 2019, followed by Petar Vitanov and Tsvetelina Penkova.

“It turned out that this was a lie. That all her causes were theater. And the battles – a spectacular fraud. Dozens of socialists worked for her day and night because they thought that she was bringing with her a new understanding of politics. All this today is already in ruins”, writes Simov and continues: “Yoncheva betrayed the trust of so many people that it is painful. The one who was supposed to be a symbol of the fight for a different country turned out to be a puppet of the parallel state”.
