The champion Ludogorets meets Heber in the first semi-final clash of the tournament for the Bulgarian Football Cup. The match at the “Huvepharma Arena” stadium in Razgrad is today at 18:45.
The trophy holders drew the most auspicious lot possible. The two teams went head-to-head last weekend, with the Razgrad side running out 3-0 winners in Pazardzhik, recording their 13th straight league win. Georgi Dermendzhiev’s team can have a double cause for joy this week if they first manage to make the rematch with Heber official, and then lift the country’s 13th consecutive championship title with a victory over newcomer Krumovgrad.
Pazardzhiklii finished the regular season in the First League in 13th position with 30 points and will fight for their survival. Luboslav Penev’s alumni have one win in their last five league matches, losing the other four. However, Heber are not a team to be underestimated after knocking out 2022 trophy winners Levski earlier in the tournament.
The second leg at the “Georgi Benkovski” stadium in Pazardzhik will be played on Thursday, May 2, at 18:45.
In the other semi-final, Botev (Plovdiv) defeated CSKA Sofia 1:0 as a guest in the first match. The second leg is on May 1, also at 18:45.
