Deputy Mayor Plamen Kitipov and designers will present the project for Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard to the residents of Varna | News | Life in Varna

The public discussion of the Detailed Communication and Transport Plan for the boulevard will be held today, April 24, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the “Plenary” hall in the Municipality of Varna

The Deputy Mayor for Construction and Infrastructure Plamen Kitipov and members of the design team will present the investment project for the expansion of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Boulevard to the citizens of Varna.

The public discussion of the Detailed Communication and Transport Plan (DCP) of the boulevard from the “Airport” junction to “Vasil Levski” Blvd. is organized by the Municipality of Varna and will be held today – April 24, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. in the hall “Plenary”.

According to the priorities in the General Development Plan of Varna, the realization of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd. is second in importance for the city after the continuation of “Vasil Levski” Blvd. It is one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city, including transit vehicles. In a part of it, traffic is carried out on only one road lane. Therefore, its throughput is almost exhausted.

In the new project decision, it is envisaged that all intersections of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd. with streets and boulevards of the first-class street network will be realized on two levels with identical “Diamond” type road junctions. These are the connections of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd. with the crossing “Konstantin and Fruzhin” Blvd., “Atanas Moskov” Blvd., “Janos Hunyadi” Blvd., “Republika” Blvd., “3rd March” Blvd./ St. Vira, Pop Dimitar St., Hristo Smirnenski Blvd.

The plan also includes a city railway north of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd., where there are places for public transport stops, as well as 6 pedestrian overpasses.

The purpose of the project is to create an opportunity for long-term planning of the investment intentions of the Municipality of Varna and to respond to public needs for building a sustainable urban environment.
