Seven directory creators give the start at the first St. George’s Day exhibition in Burgas. The host of the art event is the gallery “Atelier R”. The exhibition opens on the eve of the series of bright holidays – on April 29 at 6 p.m. in the gallery at 25 “Vazrazhdane” street and brings together artists with different nature and artistic pursuits.

The idea has a long history, says one of the participants in the exhibition, the artist and director of the City Art Gallery Georgi Dinev:

“Several years after the Yordanovs made the exhibition with their works, in a conversation with friends, the idea was born that the artists named Georgi could also make an exhibition as a counterpoint, something curious and interesting. Georgi Baev accepted the initiative with enthusiasm, but soon after he died and that broke my desire for such an organization. Now I hope it will become an interesting exhibition – something new and different in Burgas. We are united by the idea of this spiritual holiday and the fact that we are named after Saint George, and the final result will be a surprise for us as well.”

In addition to Georgi Dinev, the sculptor Georgi Milenov from Troyan and the painter Georgi Zlatev from Stara Zagora, whom we have seen as a participant in the Festival of Sand Sculptures, were invited to the first St. George’s Day exhibition. The school from the sea will be presented by Georgi Panayotov, Georgi Bostandjiev and Georgi Petkov. There is also a lady among the directories. This is the iconographer from Dryanovo, Gergana Simeonova, who has been painting icons and making murals for churches for over 20 years.

“In Burgas, we are used to opening the St. Nicholas exhibition, the Yordanov exhibition – we are successful, but we also wanted to honor this great St. George’s Day holiday. Prominent artists and names are participating, each of them will give their best in front of the demanding Burgas public,” says art critic and gallerist Pepa Sedlarska.
