Prosecutors and an investigator from the District and Regional Prosecutor’s Office – Ruse spoke “Open to the Judiciary” on the Open Doors Day

District prosecutor’s office – Ruse and Rayonna prosecutor’s office – Ruse held a meeting with students of SUEE “St. Konstantin-Kyril Philosopher” – city of Ruse, dedicated to “Open Door Day”, on the theme “Open for judicial power. Let’s meet”. The reason for this was the professional holiday of the Bulgarians lawyers and judicial officials.

20 people took part in the event, which was held on 22/04/2024 students from the 10th grade of the school and their teacher Mrs. Rumena Gospodinova. The Deputy District Prosecutor and the spokesperson of the District took part in the meeting prosecutor’s office – Ruse Miroslav Marinov, the deputy district prosecutor and spokesman for the District prosecutor’s office– Ruse Svetoslav Velikov and investigator Vyarka Dudeva from the District Investigation Department at the District prosecutor’s office-Ruse.

Studentsthey were introduced to the creation and history of Bulgaria’s justice system, the structure of the judiciary and the responsibilities of magistrates. It was explained how the judicial system works, the function of prosecutor’s officeand the court. Studentsthey received information about the procedure by which any citizen of the Republic of Bulgaria can file a report of a crime committed. On studentsit was explained at what age they begin to bear criminal responsibility and what are the consequences provided by law if they are imposed the various types of punishments described in the Penal Code.

Investigator Dudeva shared examples from his practice, explaining under what rules the investigation in criminal cases is conducted, what types of expert research can be carried out and how evidence should be collected. Specific information about this process was also presented, and the work of forensic experts was also presented through presentations.

The magistrates touched on the topic of drugs and the serious consequences of crimes related to the smuggling and distribution of various types of narcotic substances.

The information presented provokes studentsthose who asked many questions related to the use of the different methods of gathering evidence.
