Today, April 24, at 6:00 p.m., in the “Art” department of the “Pencho Slaveykov” Regional Library, the illustrator Diana Naneva will present the first part of the anniversary edition of the children’s series about Red Riding Hood by Zlatko Enev.

With this new look, “Redhead in the Forest of Ghosts” makes its debut in Varna – the hometown of the artist Diana Naneva.

In the Art Department of the Varna Library, readers will meet the book’s illustrator, hear selected excerpts, and learn more about the creative process surrounding the creation of the book.

About the book: Red-haired Anne lives happily with her mother in a small house somewhere on the edge of town, until one day she unexpectedly falls into the enchanted Forest of Ghosts. Looking for her way back home, she is forced to deal with many difficult situations and learn to make real friends. As she overcomes with great effort and ingenuity the fantastic hardships that the forest constantly offers her, she gradually begins to understand that everything in this magical world depends on the answer to two questions: Who are the ghosts? Where do they come from? Determined to reveal the secret, Aneto embarks on a long and unsafe journey.

The event takes place in partnership with the publishing house “East-West” and is a side event in the “Literary Spotlight” mini-festival, in which the illustrator Diyana Naneva is presented with selected works in the Third National Exhibition of Bulgarian Comics. “Literary Spotlight” is a project of the “Pencho Slaveykov” Regional Library – Varna, financed under the “Distribution” 2023 program of the National Fund “Culture”.
