A charity campaign in Dobrich provides food for poor families and lonely elderly people on the eve of the Easter holidays. The initiative has been organized for the eighth year and is the result of the joint efforts of the “Merciful Heart” Foundation, the “Zhatvri” Folk Dance Club, as well as dozens of volunteers. Food packages are always prepared and distributed to the homes of those in need for the two biggest Christian holidays – Christmas and Easter.

The foundation has been supporting people in need for years. She runs a small house in Dobrich, where she provides shelter and care for homeless men, has assisted dozens of people in their treatment, and participates in a number of charity campaigns. The Harvesters folk dance club also actively participates in actions of charity and empathy, and alongside them, the number of volunteers and donors who help in the activities of the two main engines of the current campaign increases every year. Traditionally, it is called “Shared Bread”, but in it not only food is provided for those in extreme need, but also love, attention and concern.

The campaign is organized for the eighth year in a row and is the work of many people, said Maya Burdarova, head of the “Zhatvari” Folk Dance Club.

In the beginning, the “Shared Bread” campaign relied on only a dozen volunteers to distribute food products, today they are already over 25, adds Alexander Ivanov from the “Merciful Heart” Foundation.

Among the donors this year is Radostina Zhekova. The satisfaction of knowing that you have helped a person in dire need is enormous, she is emphatic.

What to expect the people who will be visited before the Easter holidays, says Maya Burdarova.
