Employees of “ADM Razgrad” EAD, together with their families, participated in an afforestation campaign in the city park in Razgrad. The planting of the trees was dedicated to Earth Day and was jointly organized by the “Alaya” volunteering committee and the plant’s safety department, the administrative secretary of the enterprise, Gulchin Ahmedova, told BTA.
70 deciduous trees of the sycamore, linden, birch, ash and hemlock species were planted. The partners of the event were the Department of Environmental Protection of the Razgrad Municipality and the Municipal Enterprise “Parkstroy”, with the professional help of which the places for afforestation, the type of trees to be planted, as well as the preparation and coordination of the entire action were determined, Ahmedova pointed out.
She added that nearly 90 small and large enthusiastic foresters joined the initiative and each one of them shared joy and satisfaction from a job well done. The smallest participants were deservedly rewarded with a tasty treat.
ADM is one of the largest processors of food and agricultural products in the world and the only enterprise in our country that deals entirely with corn processing, starch production and glucose-fructose syrup. The plant has been operating in Razgrad for more than 30 years and employs over 380 full-time employees. The company regularly donates funds to support the local community, including cultural events, educational organizations, sports clubs, drug prevention campaigns and to help disadvantaged children and adults. “ADM Razgrad” also participates in initiatives to clean up contaminated areas in the region, and to help affected people and settlements in disaster situations, the administrative secretary of the enterprise also pointed out.
