The renovation of the largest community center in the region of Haskovo and the oldest in the southern part of the country – “Zarya” – is already underway. The start of the actual activities was already given on Monday, literally hours after the end of the “Magical World” festival, whose main stage is traditionally the community hall.
Four teams of craftsmen work on the field. The spaces behind the stage are literally gutted. The builders have been assigned and work is already underway on all floors, said community hall secretary Alexander Milushev, who closely monitors the renovation process.
The community building, which is home to many of the city’s schools and is the scene of a wide variety of events, from theater and music performances to school holidays and city festivals, will be completely renovated for the first time since its construction in 1963.
To finance the activities, the Haskovo municipality managed to fight for BGN 4 million from the state budget through the MRRD.
In addition to major repairs inside the building, renovation is planned for the external staircase, and there will be reconstruction on the roof.
