An exhibition of paintings by students from the Profiled High School for Teaching Foreign Languages (PGPCHE) “Exarch Yosif” in Razgrad is arranged in the glass hall of the Art Gallery “Prof. Ilya Petrov”. The inspiration with which the high school graduates filled their works takes visitors to different corners both in Bulgaria and around the world. “This is the first ever exhibition of the Language High School, which presents paintings by students from our school, but the idea is to make it a traditional one. The realization of the exhibition was a long way, but I am happy that we can see the result of the work of young artists. I am sure that a large number of them are future names in fine art not only in our country, but also abroad,” said Galina Zheleva, teacher of philosophy and civic education and head of the group of the national program “Together in the arts”. She explained that the exhibition presents 45 works by 30 students from the eighth to the 11th grade. According to the teacher, some of the children are drawing with professional materials for the first time, but they already feel ready to continue in this endeavor, and some even with professional development in this field.
The director of PGPCHE Ivelina Hristova stated that the exhibition entitled “Learn, have fun, travel with us!” is part of the program of events dedicated to the patron saint of the high school. The walk around Razgrad, Bulgaria and the world through the eyes of young high school graduates also fits into one of the conceptual tasks she defended during the competition for the director’s post. The idea is to open a new class in the high school in the academic year 2025/2026 with the specialty “Tour Guide Service”. “Students’ works show that, in addition to learning, they are also prepared for important life situations. In the paintings that are presented, I see harmony in the souls of these children, because in order to make such a product, you have to feel it,” said Hristova. She wished the young artists to have a lot of strength, to be brave and that the harmony they show in their works will continue to multiply in each of their endeavors.
The exposition will be available for viewing until May 10. After that, the paintings will remain for the high school fund and will decorate the corridors of the school.
Although there were no pre-announced prices, two of the paintings were snapped up even before the official opening. Deputy Mayor Elka Nedelcheva, who attended the opening of the exhibition, made a personal purchase of the painting “Pomorie Boats”. She also met the author – eleventh-grader Gergana Popova, congratulating her on the precision and color of her work, and also on the mood the painting creates.
The next event in the program for the celebration of the patron saint of PGPCHE “Exarch Joseph” is a solemn concert on April 30 in the Municipal Cultural Center.
