THE WEATHER GETS CONFUSED: Yellow Code for Storms and Thunderstorms Thursday! – Bulgaria

D at the end of the day, sunny weather will prevail in most of the country, but cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop. In some places, it will rain for a short time and it will thunder. In the atmosphere over the eastern regions of the country, the concentration of Saharan dust remains elevated. A light to moderate wind will blow from the west-northwest, which will temporarily shift from the southwest. Atmospheric pressure will rise, but will remain lower than the average for the month, according to the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

During the next 24 hours, a cold atmospheric front will pass through the country. It will be mostly cloudy. A yellow code for potentially dangerous weather and heavy rainfall has been announced in 12 regions of the country – Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, part of Stara Zagora (Pavel Banya, Kazanlak, Nikolaevo, Maglizh and Gurkovo), Lovech, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Sofia Region, Sofia City , Kyustendil, Pernik, Blagoevgrad and part of Smolyan (Chepelare, Smolyan, Dospat, Devin and Borino).

There will be rain, at night mainly in the northwestern half of the country, and during the day – they will be widespread, in the afternoon hours in many places accompanied by thunder. In some places, mainly in the mountainous regions, they will be significant in quantity. There are also conditions for hail. A weak, moderate northwesterly wind will blow during the day.

The minimum temperatures will be between 7° and 12°, and the maximum – from 10°-13° in the western regions to 20°-22° in the eastern ones. In Sofia, the minimum temperature will be around 7°, and the maximum – around 11°.

In the mountains it will be mostly cloudy with rain showers, in the Rhodope region accompanied by thunder. Above 2000 m the rain will change to snow. A moderate north-westerly, south-westerly wind will blow in the highest parts. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 m will be about 9°, at 2000 m – about 3°.

It will be mostly cloudy along the Black Sea. In the afternoon there will be showers accompanied by thunder. A light and moderate north-westerly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be from 16° along the northern coast to 21° along the southern coast. The temperature of the sea water is about 13°. The excitement of the sea will be 2-3 points.

On Friday morning and in eastern areas, the rain will stop and the clouds will break and quickly decrease and the weather will be mostly sunny across the country. After noon, cumulus clouds will develop over the mountainous regions, isolated short-term precipitation is not excluded. The wind will be weak from the east. The minimum temperatures will be between 3° and 8°, and the maximum – between 15° and 20°.

During the weekend it will be mostly sunny, the chance of precipitation decreases. Temperatures will rise and on Sunday the maximum will be between 20° and 25°.

On Monday, the wind will shift from the northeast and increase. Above Eastern Bulgaria, the cloud cover will be mostly significant, there will also be precipitation, more in quantity – in the southeastern regions. Sunny weather will prevail over Western Bulgaria.

During the first days of next week, the wind will shift from the north-northeast and increase. In the eastern half of the country it will be cloudy, there will also be precipitation accompanied by thunder. In western areas there will be more hours of sunshine and the chance of brief afternoon showers is less. Temperatures will remain close to normal for the end of April. On Wednesday, sunny weather will prevail with the development of cumulus clouds after noon over the mountains, where there is a greater chance of showers and thunderstorms.
