The case against the former manager of the Crisis Center for Children in Plovdiv and former deputy mayor of the West region Georgi Georgiev for misappropriation of money starts again in the Plovdiv District Court.
The judge-reporter is Milena Georgieva, and the case of subpoena – the subject of the case – is from 10 years ago.
3 years ago, Georgiev received 1.5 years of probation for the fact that between 27.02.2013 and 17.06.2014 he embezzled 16 times foreign money in the total amount of BGN 4,118, owned by the Crisis Center for Children at the Municipality of Plovdiv .
He was also convicted for the fact that, in the period from 28.02.2013 to 22.06.2014, in his capacity as manager of the Crisis Center for Children, he drew up official documents – finding protocols for acceptance of works without objections, in which certified false circumstances and statements.
Subsequently, however, the case was returned for a new examination and today it started with an administrative hearing.
In the case, it was established that during the aforementioned period, Georgiev was the manager of the “Crisis Center for Children”, Plovdiv.
According to the prosecutor’s office, in his capacity as an official, in 2013 he concluded 10 civil contracts with his father-in-law K.S., and in 2014 – another six, for repairs in the building, maintenance, cleaning, removal of old flooring and others.
The contracts were concluded by Georgiev with the knowledge that K.S. will not do any real work on them.
The constitutive protocols for accepting the “work” were signed by the defendant, despite the false circumstances stated in them.
For a year and a half, the defendant’s father-in-law was paid remuneration under the civil contracts, without actually having performed any repair work.
The evidence collected indicates that the repairs were not carried out by K.S., but by the staff or the children who were in the Crisis Center.
Georgiev prepared 15 documents in which he certified false circumstances that the work was done by K.S., to whom 4,118 BGN were transferred via bank transfer.
