The dead drunk driver who hit a woman in Plovdiv was charged with another charge

The District Prosecutor’s Office – Plovdiv charged Ivan Raichinov, 41 years old, for the fact that on 20.04.2024, in the city of Plovdiv, in the parking lot on “Lev Tolstoy” Street, while driving a truck – Jeep, make “Ford” violated the traffic rules and carelessly caused moderate bodily injury – a broken vertebra to a 51-year-old woman.

The act was committed in a drunken state. The driver refused to be tested for the use of narcotic substances. The crime is qualified under Article 343 paragraph 3 paragraph 1 paragraph Article 342 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. The charge against Raichinov was raised on the basis of the evidence collected at the moment, as well as the conclusion of the appointed and prepared forensic medical examination. According to the experts, the road accident caused moderate bodily injury to the injured woman.

During the pre-trial proceedings, inspections of the accident scene were carried out, witnesses – eyewitnesses to the incident and other investigation actions were identified and questioned.

The District Prosecutor’s Office – Plovdiv has protested the decision of the District Court – Plovdiv, by which the accused was not given a measure of restraint in connection with his previous charge of driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol – 3.31 per thousand.
