The administration of the “Central” district must prepare by the end of September the projects for the transport scheme and parking in the area of the pedestrian part of “Hristo G. Danov” street. The announcement of the section from the intersection with “Betoven” street to “Ruski” boulevard as a car-free zone was adopted with 31 votes “for”, 9 “against” and 10 “abstentions”, transmits Plovdiv24.bg.

By September 30, the city hall must prepare a project for transport and communication services, as well as a regulation for parking for residents and for charging commercial establishments.

“Municipal Council supported one of the permanent policies of the Plovdiv Municipality for the development of the green system and pedestrian areas, for which I personally thank everyone for the lively debate. I am glad that the development of Plovdiv in the last 100 years shows that this is a long-term trend and it must continue,” commented district mayor Georgi Stamenov on the sidelines of the local parliament.

I hope that within two months all the documentation will be completed, all the projects and regulations will be made, after which it will be submitted for a vote in the Municipal Council.

Stamenov announced that he made a personal commitment to the residents of the area to become part of the team that will prepare the access rules to guarantee their rights in the future.

He predicts that, if there are no administrative problems, another pedestrian zone is expected to appear in Plovdiv around September 15.
