On April 27, at 6:00 p.m., in the great hall of the Blagoevgrad Drama Theater, viewers will be able to enjoy for the first time the spectacular interpretation of Oscar Wilde’s timeless tale “The Infanta’s Birthday”.

The performance is the work of the director Todor Valov and the scenographer Natalia Gocheva – one of the most distinguished professionals in the field of puppet theater. For several months now, the actors Lora Hristova, Katya Ivanova, Nedilyana Pavlik, Pepa Maneva, Alexander Mitev, Dimitar Stoinov, Aladin Aliibrahim and Teodor Kukov have been rehearsing hard to create another gem in the theater’s repertoire.

“Infant’s Birthday” is a unique title on the poster of the “Nikola Vaptsarov” Drama Theater – a family theater for children over 7 years old and their parents. This is a tale of the cruelty in man, born out of external circumstances in the adult world. The play seeks an answer to the question of how the lack of love destroys the capacity for compassion. Although sad, Oscar Wilde’s tales captivate with an elegant expression, original and non-standard ideas, frankness and a sense of humor, and Todor Valov’s new stage realization combines elements from both dramatic and puppet theater and calls for something extraordinary.
