The Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo has announced a public tender for the award of public transport with the corresponding timetable on city lines numbered 2, 110 and 70, as well as for intercity lines from the municipal transport network
Carriers are also being sought to run courses from Veliko Tarnovo to Lovech and Plovdiv and vice versa.
The total value of the order is 1,018,800 including VAT, and participants in the procedure must offer prices for tickets and subscription cards by category of citizens. The contracts will be concluded for a maximum of three years. There are a number of requirements for carriers and buses, but despite electronic boards in the city, there is no requirement to install jeeps.
The first separate position refers to the city lines N 2 and N 110, combined with transport on two routes from the old capital to Nikiup and Kapinovo. Line N 2 runs from “Cholakovtsi” quarter with a starting time of 6:30 and along “Bulgaria” Blvd. it reaches “Marno Pole” Square. Buses will run every 55 minutes. The schedule foresees that at 7:25 a.m. there will be one that will depart from Tovarna Gara and run every 1 hour. The last bus will be at 18:25, with a total of 12 routes from the station in both directions and only on weekdays.
Bus N 110 maintains its route from “Cholakovtsi” district to “Xiliforska” street (Mavrikov district), it will run every hour, with the first one leaving the district at 5:41 a.m.
Three buses daily with starting times 5.55; 12.30 and 17.30 will leave from the “Zapad” bus station for Nikyup, and from the village – from 6.30; 13.05 and 18.05 hours. Only one course will be run on Saturday and Sunday. On the Veliko Tarnovo – Kapinovo line, buses will run only on weekdays, with two routes per day in both directions. The departure from the old capital will also be from the “Zapad” bus station.
The second dedicated position is for line N 70 – from Cholakovtsi district to the university. The buses will again run every hour – from 6.13 to 23.13 in the direction of VTU and from 6.50 to 21.50 back. Timetables at 6:13, 13:13 and 18:13 run to the village of Malki Chiflik.
The future transport scheme foresees one daily course from Veliko Tarnovo to Lovech and Plovdiv.
An important condition for the participants in the procedure is that if they apply for more than one specific position, which are 4 in total, the buses cannot be duplicated.
The public procurement is financed from the state budget. In return for the transport service provided, the contractor will receive subsidies and compensation for the transport of disabled people, students, etc. categories of passengers who benefit from a discount. A participant in the procedure who does not comply with the restrictive measures towards Russia will be removed.
