Technical University – Gabrovo and Kozloduy NPP signed a cooperation agreement

A cooperation agreement between the Technical University – Gabrovo and the Kozloduy NPP was signed by the rector, Prof. Iliya Zhelezaraov, and the executive director of the plant, Eng. Valentin Nikolov. This was reported to BTA by the higher education institution.
The cooperation agreement between the two organizations is in the field of training and research. The two countries will cooperate with the aim of promoting and creating conditions for the development of joint activities in innovation, applied research and education in the Bulgarian energy sector, TU – Gabrovo adds.
The agreement continues and builds on the traditional and successful educational practices for training students who work at the headquarters in educational qualification degrees “Bachelor” and “Master” at Technical University-Gabrovo. Special attention is also paid to the possibilities of training in the educational and scientific degree “doctor”. The focus of the agreement was the strengthening of the work on including students from TU – Gabrovo in internship programs at Kozloduy NPP. Possibilities for organizing specialized training for plant employees to increase their qualifications were also discussed, the University of Gabrovo also points out.
The Technical University-Gabrovo was established in 1964 by a decree of the National Assembly. The idea of ​​a higher school in the city dates back to the 1940s. It was formed by Vasil Aprilov, the virtuoso and founder of New Bulgarian education, and his associate Nikola Palauzov. The institute started working with 1327 people in part-time education. In Gabrovo, students study for the first three years, and then continue to study and graduate where they were admitted before the university was established. In 1965, the Gabrovo Technical University received its own admission and study quota and students began and completed their studies there. Education at the Technical University-Gabrovo is carried out in three faculties under programs for the educational and qualification degrees “bachelor” and “master” and for the educational and scientific degree “doctor”, as well as under programs for qualification and postgraduate specialization in the system of continuing education.
