Pleven hosts the 27th National Astronomy Olympiad. 96 students will participate in the prestigious competition, and the winners will become part of the national team for international competitions.
The best astronomers are arriving and will be in Pleven until Sunday.
“It is the 27th in a row, organized by the Regional Department of Education – Pleven, the municipality of Pleven and hosted by the Geo Milev Mathematical High School. We will welcome 96 participants from different areas of the country. 28 leaders have expressed their desire to be with the students. It will be the competition day in three age groups, so we expect Pleven to welcome many talents,” explained Albena Toteva, head of the Regional Department of Education.
“We have enough good astronomers who show this at the world level”, Irena Borisova, director of the Mathematical High School.
