Candidate-cadets from all over the country appeared before the Admissions Committee at the National University

Candidate cadets who passed the exams from the early admission campaign appeared before the Admissions Committee at the Vasil Levski National Military University. The deputy head of the administrative activities of the Military University, Col. Eng. Ivan Yovkov, chaired the commission, in which representatives of all types of armed forces in the Bulgarian Army participated.

533 are the places for the academic year 2024/2025, announced by order of the Minister of Defense. 396 places have been applied for at the National Military University, but the first admission committee does not allocate absolutely all the announced numbers. Most of the places will be filled during the regular intake in the summer.

Cadet applicants can choose from 15 military specializations offered by the Military University.

With the highest success this year, Christian Kolev from Veliko Tarnovo entered the early admission, who chose the military specialization “Intelligence”. “Being an officer is my childhood dream, and my father is also a military man. Nor is he the only officer of my kind. I have a cousin who is currently a cadet,” admits Christian Kolev, who will graduate from the Professional Language High School “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” in Veliko Tarnovo in the English and Russian class.

The first girl who stood before the commission – Jacqueline Koseva from Stara Zagora – also wanted to study intelligence. She graduated in “Software and Hardware Sciences” in her hometown, but said that she wanted to be a scout because this specialization offered her dynamism, extreme experiences and foreign languages.

The most attractive for prospective cadets is the military specialization “Intelligence”. The places assigned to her for early admission were occupied by the first boys and girls who appeared before the committee. A large part of them are graduates of natural and mathematical high schools and language schools, including the Aprilov High School, but among those who preferred the future of scouts, there were graduates of architectural restoration and hardware and software sciences.

“I am following in the footsteps of my grandfather and my father and I am here because I have dreamed of studying at the Military School since I was a child. My grandfather was an intelligence officer, my father is a graduate of the Sergeant’s School here, so even though I’m majoring in computer engineering and technology, I’m choosing Intelligence. I am categorical and will take advantage of the last place,” said Veselin Stoyanov from Varna.

Military Communication and Information Systems with a civilian major in Computer Systems and Cyber ​​Security as well as Motorized Infantry and Tank Troops are the other majors that have proven attractive to cadet applicants.

“I am graduating from a science and mathematics high school, I am the heir of military personnel. My father is an officer, my grandfathers were military personnel and they all raised me in patriotism, that’s why without hesitation I choose to study “Military Communication and Information Systems”, Nikolay Vassilev from Yambol told the commission. This specialization includes Kaloyan Petkov from Tutrakan, who admitted that his brother, who recently graduated from the National Military University, was his inspiration.

Those who did not manage to enroll in their dream specializations will get another opportunity during regular admission. Then they can take the exams again to raise their score or simply wait for the results of the other cadet candidates and appear again before the admission committee at the National Military University.
