On the Southern Black Sea coast, there is readiness for the successful and peaceful course of the summer season. This was assured to the Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev by the representatives of the local authorities and control institutions. Expectations are for a successful summer season with growth in enrollment and readiness of the institutions.

Burgas Airport announced that they will open new routes, and for the season they have a total of 85 destinations from 25 countries. They also reported a 15% increase in enrollments from Great Britain. Charter flights also start from May.

With the working meeting in Burgas with the local self-government bodies from the Southern Black Sea coast and representatives of the control bodies, the two-day tour of the Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast began, to check the readiness for the start of Summer 2024. Minister Miloshev expressed confidence for a successful season at the base of the data so far and emphasized that maritime tourism represents 70% of tourism in our country. The regional governor of Burgas Prof. Maria Neikova, the mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov, as well as mayors and representatives of the municipalities of Pomorie, Primorsko, Nessebar, took part in the talks. Sozopol and Tsarevo.

Minister Miloshev emphasized that good communication is part of a successful tourist product and called for transparency in the work of the institutions. “It is very important that your activity is visible, because prevention is much more important than punishment. With your sustainable work and good coordination with other control bodies, the tourism product, the interest of tourists, but also legally operating businesses will be protected.” With these words, the minister addressed the representatives of the regional units of the control authorities.

In the last few years, our sea beaches along the Southern Black Sea coast have been extremely clean, competitive at the world level and attractive to tourists, noted the director of the RZI Burgas, Dr. Georgi Pazderov. He announced that they are starting regular research of the sea water on the beaches. And he added that the RZI will work in close cooperation with RIOSV, BABH, KZP, etc., in order to guarantee the health of tourists. The need for more doctors and additional emergency teams is the other emphasis that was placed by Dr. Pazderov and the regional manager Prof. Neikova, who promised assistance. Special attention will be paid to the proper storage and processing of food products, assured the representatives of the BBAH. Children’s camps, which are most numerous on the south coast, will be approached with caution.

The NRA announced that they will conduct covert and overt inspections, as they do every year, and the most frequent violations are related to the failure to issue a receipt. Additional police teams will be provided and dispatched to the territory of the resorts during the summer tourist season, including from other countries to take care of the peace of vacationers, assured the General Directorate of the National Police. All the necessary police staff are provided, and a total of 428 police officers are sent for the season. 10 foreign police officers are also sent to the resorts during the busiest months – from the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and Romania.

Work is being done to ease traffic and reduce the risk of road accidents, and on the days from Friday to Sunday there will also be manual regulation of busy intersections, which cause traffic jams and delays for tourists. Obzor – Sunny Beach were also announced at the meeting as positive news. Another long-awaited repair – that of the treatment plant of the “Yasna Polyana” dam, will ensure water supply for the entire southern coast.

At the same time, the Executive Agency “Maritime Administration” announced that they are actively working with beach concessionaires and have additional lifeboats in Nessebar and Sozopol, as well as volunteer lifeguards. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Consumer Protection Commission, Bulgarian Safety Agency of Food, National Revenue Agency, Directorate for National Construction Control, Regional Health Inspection, Executive Agency “General Labor Inspection”, General Directorate “National Police”, Agency “Road Infrastructure”, Executive Agency “Maritime Administration”, General Directorate ” Border Police”, Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water – Burgas. The series of working meetings, the purpose of which is for the minister to check the readiness to welcome the summer tourist season 2024, continues tomorrow with meetings on the Northern Black Sea coast.
