Hear the news:

The measures that the health authorities will take against the spread of whooping cough in our country will be announced today.

One of them, which was discussed already at the beginning of the week, is the temporary withdrawal of the first vaccination against the disease two weeks earlier – when the baby turns one and a half months old.

No restrictions are foreseen in the movement of people and access to public places, as during the time of the COVID pandemic, it became clear from the statements of the chief state health inspector Assoc. Angel Kunchev.

In order to protect newborns, vaccination will be allowed on the 45th day after birth.

It is also expected to facilitate access to laboratory testing for whooping cough, using bases in the university cities of Plovdiv, Varna, Stara Zagora and Pleven.

Diagnostics will be free for certain groups of patients.
