KNSB – Gabrovo will celebrate Labor Day with an information campaign

--

Children from “Sun” preschool, preparatory group /6-7 years/, recreated the significant spring Christian holidays Lazarus Day, Tsvetnitsa, Easter and St. George’s Day.

Lazarus Day is celebrated 8 days before Easter. On this day, the traditional lazaration is performed.

Young girls, called lazarkas, fight flowers that they weave on Palm Sunday. They wear folk costumes and go around the houses, singing for the prosperity and health of the owners.

The little lazarettes of the “Slantse” school dropped willow wreaths into the river in front of parents, teachers, guests and played the “Lazar’s dance”.

On the eve of the biggest spring Christian holiday, Easter, which celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the children praised him with poems and sang Easter songs.

They called the eggs received on Lazarovden for luck and prosperity in different colors.

The celebration ended with the traditional St. George’s Day swing, on which the boys rocked a handsome, beautiful girl.

The spring reenactments are a continuation of the cycle “Winter National Holidays and Customs” under the mini-project “Bulgarian National Holidays and Customs” for the academic year 2023/24.

The leaders of the group are senior teachers Yulia Nenova and Kalina Toneva.

The teachers are convinced that in this way the children will expand their knowledge of Bulgarian traditions and culture and will develop respect for the Bulgarian language.

The musical performances are under the direction of Velina Ruseva.
