Charity bazaar opened by the organization of cancer patients in Gorna Oryahovitsa : RegNews.NET

Handmade sweets, kosunacs, souvenirs and all kinds of works of art can still be found at the stalls around Zhaneta Patisserie in Georgi Izmirliev Square. They are part of the charity campaign of the Gorno-Oryakhov branch of the Bulgarian Association of Cancer Patients, which marks 20 years since its establishment.

The opening of the bazaar was attended by many guests and partners of the organization and its chairwoman Maria Georgieva. The Chairman of the Board of Directors Ognyan Stoyanov and deputy. Mayor Petya Ivanova expressed their admiration for the strength of people fighting cancer and helping others. A special greeting was prepared by the children from the “Zvanche” vocal group at the “Ivan Vazov” elementary school and little lazarettes from the “Bodra Smyana” branch of the “First of June” school. There was also a greeting from the partners of the organization in Gabrovo.

The funds raised from the bazaar are for three causes. Part of the amount will go to cancer patients in second and third remission, to research and rehabilitation of an unemployed student and to an information campaign about the benefits of prevention aimed at young people.

The bazaar is organized jointly with the association “Chovekolyubie” and the Bulgarian Anti-Fascist Union in Gorna Oryahovitsa. Volunteers from the Youth Red Cross also help. It is held under the motto “20 years in the name of life” and is under the patronage of the mayor Nikolay Rashkov, added Georgieva.
