Students from the Vocational High School of Commerce and Catering will increase their knowledge of food ethics based on a practical approach. Vocational High School of Trade and Catering welcomed guests on a two-year project of the Erasmus+ program, KD2 “Cooperation between organizations and institutions, “Small partner projects”, sector “Professional education and training” KA210- VET №2023-2-LT01-KA210-VET -000175319 “Food Ethics for Future Leaders in Agriculture and Restaurant” .

The project aims to promote new approaches in food ethics education in vocational schools of agriculture and catering and to support effective interaction between future farmers, chefs and restaurateurs in the successful implementation of the “Farm to Fork” strategy.

This will be done by creating a Food Ethics Digital Course for Synergy between Future Farmers and Chefs, which includes 3 modules of 180 minutes, translated into 4 languages ​​(EN, LT, BG, IT) and a Food Ethics and Synergy Game in Practice – a card game format for teaching food ethics, where players take on different roles and work together to solve ethical dilemmas in the food ecosystem.

Partners in the project are Coordinator- Lithu- Aukstaitijos profesinio rengimo centras- Center for professional training Aukstaitija located in Moletai, Lithuania. Professional school of agriculture, strongly oriented towards ecology and sustainable development, sustainable energy. The training base is equipped with a biogas plant and solar power plants as educational facilities. The school has a 250 ha ecological farm, producing its own crops and vegetables. Other specialties at the school are: cooking, waiter-bartending, technical support, security, sewing, accounting.

Partner – Igor Vitale International srl – Igor Vitale International, LLC, located in Foggia, Italy. Igor Vitale International srl offers training and consulting in green skills, leadership, agriculture, food ecosystems, catering and tourism with profiled competencies in work and organizational psychology. IVI is also an expert in creating digital courses, having successfully completed 28 digital courses with over 200,000 participants, including vocational education and training students.

In addition to the Digital Course and the Game, the students of the Vocational High School of Trade and Catering will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of food ethics based on a practical approach: creating a project in teams, educational visits to farms, cooking lessons and educational and practical visits for synergy with haute cuisine restaurants, rare wine producers, artisan fishermen and micro-farms, will participate in a haute cuisine master class at the Porta di Basso restaurant in the province of Foggia in collaboration with Chef Domenico Cilenti – 1 star Michelin restaurant.
