“Why haven’t we seen the photos of Kalin Stoyanov with the young man Stefan Dimitrov? I know they are friends, but we see the photos of Zhivko Kotsev. We have seen photos of a poodle. What does a poodle have in common? Why don’t they blame the poodle? The poodle has tufts”.
This is what the former Prime Minister and current PP MP Nikolay Denkov told bTV regarding the scandal with “Customs” and the photos leaked to the media, including of a poodle and tutu.
“I have no doubt that with regard to Asen Vasilev, this is a fabricated story. He appointed Petya Bankova in order to increase revenues. Look at their message – they have been monitoring a smuggling channel since 2022, and now they are arresting the head of customs, who It’s 40 days old. It’s funny. They’re talking about channels that have been around for years. They can accuse anyone they want to take down the machine vot. The information was accidentally leaked”he added.
Denkov explained that he spoke with the former vocal secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev, who was brought in as a defendant for participating in a criminal group.
“He explained that his watch was a gift. He should have declared it, but it is not worth BGN 50,000. This is a problem, but it does not prove that he is hiding corruption. I know about the customs officers transferred from Bankova. I know there were complaints from diplomats and ambassadors asking for bribes from their citizens and trucks at the border. This is why the customs officers were moved. The same diplomat told me that there have been no complaints. I know why the changes were made, but I want to see if Petya Bankova will be convicted, or it will be the same as with “Nexo”. I had hoped that Borislav Sarafov would act differently from Ivan Geshev. My optimism did not help“said the former prime minister.

“Delyan Peevski can talk a lot, but he is proven to be corrupt under American and English law. Let him explain why he is on the “Magnitsky” list and cannot fly abroad”Denkov said.
“I have not been to Delyan Peevski’s office. When we formed the government, we started negotiations with Borisov. At every meeting, it turned out that Peevski was there before us, and they had already agreed what would happen. When the conversation began, it became clear that we are talking with Peevski. The choice was either we make a government and continue, or we make a contract with “Botash”. We pay BGN 1 million to the Turkish company at the moment.”Denkov added.
In his words, the ruling majority worked well until December 2023:
“As long as we were working on our program. Then they said they didn’t want any more. As long as we could deliver results, it made sense to run it. I think we delivered results. He also commented on the failed negotiations with GERB on the prime minister’s rotation. “GERB made up an excuse with Kalin Stoyanov. The ladies from GERB lied about many things. The initial agreement was on the table all the time, in which only Maria Gabriel and I would switch places. They didn’t want that,” said Nikolay Denkov.
