The exhibition “Verbinka – sent by God” opens in the museum

In 2017, the Regional Historical Museum – Targovishte received a large donation from the Bulgarian Slavi Vassilev, who has lived in Switzerland for many years.

It contained 12 bags full of notebooks, notebooks, photo albums and many other personal belongings of Verbinka Dimitrova, who lived until 2010 in the village of Betlach in Switzerland.

The donor knew Verbinka during her lifetime and knew what her will was – that the archive and her belongings be returned to her native land. That is why, a few years earlier, he had left a large part of her belongings at the town hall in the village of Iliino. With the cooperation of the mayor of the village, Vildan Hyusmenova, the belongings of Verbinka Dimitrova were collected and stored in the museum in Targovishte. The citizens and guests of Targovishte will be able to see all this in the new exhibition of RIM – Targovishte “Verbinka – sent by God”.

Verbinka Dimitrova from the village of Iliino, Targovishte region, is a phenomenon – an example of the power of the human spirit, who has inspired faith in thousands of sufferers around the world – from Bulgaria, through Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, India, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland.

The main means for this are her demonstrations in large halls, salons, lobbies, where she shows the audience what she can do without arms and legs and how with faith, patience and will, everything is achieved.

All her life she has been on the road – a messenger of mercy. A large part of its demonstrations are under the patronage of the International Red Cross. The funds from the demonstrations are donated to charity, for the construction of hospitals, for the treatment of sick children. For myself, I leave enough to be able to survive and make new prostheses, which wear out in a few years. We hope more people will learn about this countrywoman of ours, of whom the village of Iliino and Bulgaria can only be proud!
