A complex of measures to guarantee public order, security and the smooth movement of citizens during the upcoming holidays – Lazarus Day, Palm Sunday, Easter, May 1st, St. George’s Day are planned and will be implemented by the employees of the ODMVR-Stara Zagora. Within the framework of the created organization, police teams are provided around the places of religious events and other public events. Preliminary meetings were held with representatives of local authorities and Orthodox churches to coordinate actions to increase safety.

If you are traveling, keep in mind that pre-holiday traffic is likely to be heavy out of the city on the eve of the holiday and into the city in the afternoon of the last holiday. Do not succumb to impatience and haste, do not undertake risky maneuvers and overtaking. Observe speed limits and use seat belts and child restraint systems.

To ensure road safety and limit the prerequisites for the occurrence of accidents on the territory of Stara Zagora and the district, the maximum number of employees with the authority to work under the Road Traffic Act are included. The teams will be positioned at certain places for control, and if necessary to assist the traffic, they will regulate the traffic. Specialized police operations “Alcohol, drugs, impaired driving and speed” will be conducted.

With the upcoming holidays giving the opportunity to be away from home, police advice is that when you leave your home for an extended period of time, do not announce this to a wide range of people. Avoid keeping large sums of money or expensive items in your home. Money and valuables should not be left in your cars either, regardless of how long you leave them.
