The leaders of GERB-SDS and DPS Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski met with representatives of the miners and unions, as well as with the Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov.
“Promised and fulfilled,” said the two leaders quoted by Bulgaria on Air.
“Today in the parliament, with the votes of the deputies from GERB and DPS, we guaranteed the continuous work of miners and energy workers in the Mariska basin. The miners also asked for a guarantee that the funds allocated today will be used as intended. On behalf of the GERB and DPS parliamentary groups, we have made a firm commitment and will continuously request information on the development of the process from the Minister of Energy and from the management of the mines,” announced Borisov and Peevski.
The two met in the National Assembly with the mayor of Yambol, Valentin Revanski. Revanski complained about the delay in the implementation of the project for the construction of the Bulgarian military base in Kabile. Peevski and Borisov summoned ministers Lyudmila Petkova and Atanas Zapryanov, news.bg reported.
Mayor Revanski emphasized that the project is of extreme importance for our national security and the Euro-Atlantic orientation of the country, but although it was put forward as a priority for the government of Nikolay Denkov, not a single lev has been given for its implementation. In the summer, Revanski threatened to call a referendum on the base, but apparently changed his mind. Now he has complained that the city has not received the promised money for the hospital either.
“The ministers made a commitment to help and solve the mentioned issues as quickly as possible. We are ready to cooperate fully on priority topics that directly concern the improvement of conditions and the quality of life of Bulgarian citizens, the representatives of the government emphasized,” reads a release from the press center of the DPS.
