29.21% will vote again for the People’s Representative Mario Rangelov /DPS/ according to the participants in a poll of “Pleven Press” – Pleven Press

--

On April 17th, 9 days ago, we published a poll in which we asked the question “Which of the current MPs would you vote for again on June 9th?”

The current deputies from 15 MIR Pleven are 8. As people’s representatives in the 49th parliament, the interests of the people of Pleven region were protected: Valeri Lachovski /GERB/, Plamen Tachev /GERB/, Radostin Vassilev /independent/, Svilen Trifonov /Yes Bulgaria /, Prof. Rumen Gechev /BSP for Bulgaria/, Mario Rangelov /DPS/, Ivelin Parvanov /”Revival”/, Toshko Yordanov /”There is such a people”/.

As of today, April 26, these 8 Pleven MPs from “current” become “former”, since April 26 is their last working day in the National Assembly. They are on leave because of the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary and regular European elections on June 9. The unofficial election campaign started a long time ago, the official one will start on May 10, 2024.

According to our information, the parties represented in parliament will bet on the same names in their candidate-deputy lists for 15 MIR Pleven. Internal party struggles for list leaders have been going on for a long time. Those in the BSP and PP/DB are particularly dramatic. In GERB, DPS and “Vazrazhdane” things are almost resolved and the names specified. He is betting on their current Pleven representatives in the parliament.

That’s why we published the survey in question. Will people vote for the same names again? Are they satisfied with their previous work as MPs, some of them with multi-year mandates? Will they regain the trust of the voters? Do the parties themselves enjoy the necessary confidence that will spill over to their candidates?

Until now /26.04.2024/ 268 readers have participated in the survey. Of them, 29.10% would again vote for Mario Rangelov /DPS/ on June 9. According to this indicator, Rangelov is in first place among the eight Pleven MPs.

The second place in the poll, where 10.82% declare “I will not vote for anyone”, is a cause for concern. The parties should pay serious attention to this fact, which suggests a low voter turnout on June 9. Will they be able to reverse this trend in the short time that the election campaign provides them? We are not optimistic in this regard, but anything is possible during elections.

With 9.33%, Radostin Vassilev took the third place in the survey. He announced that he will not be the leader of the Pleven list, as he will be one in Sofia. The Pleven list will be led by Deyan Petkov, general secretary of the MECH party.

In fourth place with 8.96% is the answer “for none of the listed”. Thus, nearly 20% /19.78/ categorically give a sign to the parties represented in the parliament that they have lost a large part of the electoral trust in them. It remains to be seen how and by what means the parties will recover this loss.

For the rest of the Pleven (already former) deputies, the results are respectively: Svilen Trifonov /7.09%/, Prof. Rumen Gechev /5.60%/, Toshko Yordanov /5.22%, Ivelin Parvanov /4.10%/, Valeri Lachovski /2.99%/, Plamen Tachev /1.77%/.

As always, we emphasize that the survey is not representative. But it shows the direction in which public opinion is moving. And it is decisive in such challenges as the National Assembly elections.
