The project “My hometown in family memories” has been launched, which is implemented by the Regional History Museum in Burgas and “Hristo Botev” SU – Aytos. It aims to shed light on interesting facts related to the history of the city and to present settlements within the boundaries of the municipality. The studies are done by the students with the assistance of their teachers and representatives of the museum. A series of classes will also be carried out, as well as collection work to select oral information, notes, local history notes and photographs. The aim is for children to learn more about their birthplaces and the places with which their families are connected, and to acquire knowledge and skills about the methods of documenting important data to help preserve history and ancestral memory.

“Through projects like this, we try to give students the opportunity to develop their creative potential, inspired by history. They accept their work in connection with the realization of the idea very responsibly and with great enthusiasm, therefore I believe that the beneficial results will be seen”, commented the chief curator of the Historical Exhibition in the Regional History Museum-Burgas, Dr. Ivanka Deleva.

The project is led by Tatiana Baikusheva, on behalf of RIM-Burgas, and by Nikolay Dimitrov, on behalf of SU “Hristo Botev” – Aytos.
