An increase in acute respiratory diseases was reported by the regional health inspection in Vratsa.
15 similar cases were found in the past 7 days.
All of them are mild infectious diseases that have the characteristic symptoms of inflammation of the respiratory tract. They are caused by various viruses: adenoviruses, coronaviruses, reoviruses, rhinoviruses, respiratory syncytial virus, parainfluenza viruses, etc.
Symptoms vary according to the cause and can be runny nose, laryngitis, inflammation of the lymph nodes, conjunctivitis, bronchitis, and in infants, pneumonia.
There is already one confirmed case of whooping cough in the Vratsa region, and 4 other samples with suspected infection are being tested.
In addition to respiratory diseases, during the period there was a large number of cases of chicken pox. In just one week, 24 new cases were registered.
Health authorities report one more case of tuberculosis, COVID-19 and salmonellosis.
