The European Parliament bans freedom of speech because of the elections in Bulgaria – Rumen Petkov

/Pogled.info/ The European project, which was once the bright dream of hundreds of millions of Europeans, tired of wars and threats such as the fascist plague, is today more and more confidently moving towards the scenarios described by George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. With 429 votes “for”, the European Parliament approved a resolution calling on the political leadership in the member states and the EU to “immediately and energetically oppose” the “Russian interference” in Europe, paying special attention to… the early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria. But everything is even scarier than that.

According to the well-paid MEPs, many of whom turned out to be lobbyists for George Soros’ structures some time ago, ” “Kremlin-backed attempts to interfere and undermine European democratic processes” strongly condemned and stated that “such tactics must have consequences“.

Moreover, the European Parliament “expresses concern about credible reports of increasing Russian attempts to interfere in the upcoming elections for the Bulgarian National Parliament on 9 June 2024. It expresses strong concern about the existence of a network of disinformation agents operating on social media platforms, traditional media, academia, NGOs and political parties, and about Russian control of this network”.

The same MEPs who see no problem in the fact that the “Green Deal” destroyed European industry and energy, find some mythical Russian disinformation network. Again, those who deprived Europe of cheap natural gas, which is why Germany is in recession, think that people should be persecuted not only in the media, but also in academia, politics and the whole public space.

It is, of course, primarily about MEPs from the forces of the liberal status quo – EPP, ALDE, PES, the “Greens” and the like. People who probably in their own countries could not be elected in national elections, but sitting comfortably in their seats in Brussels, where they take multi-thousand salaries and even bigger “donations” from Soros, point the finger at what is “Russian disinformation “.

But the question is, what exactly will be defined as Russian disinformation? Is it a lie and misinformation that Germany is in recession? No, that’s a fact. Or maybe it is a lie that in Bulgaria the real inflation due to the liberal men from PPDB is actually 30-40 percent? No, every Bulgarian who enters supermarkets to give money to Western (not Russian!) chains knows this.

Or maybe it’s a lie that Ukraine is losing the war, and we Europeans are pouring tens of billions into a lost cause, escalating tensions with a nuclear superpower? No, it’s not a lie. Every day, American and other Western experts express their concern that there is no way Ukraine can stop Russian troops advancing along the entire line of contact.

At the beginning of this bloody and brutal war, there was a chance for peace between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul. As the representative of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Servant of the People party in Ukraine, David Arahamia, admitted, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson “prevented” the conclusion of peace. Why aren’t MEPs talking about it? If it weren’t for Boris Johnson and the various paid officials in Brussels, the war might have ended, and Russia would never have become as strong as it is now. Because, let’s face it, whether anyone likes it or not, Russia and the Russian Armed Forces have become an unbreakable machine that runs flawlessly despite some minor logistical and personnel issues.

And maybe, according to European officials, it is a lie that hundreds of thousands of Bulgarian pensioners cannot afford to buy medicine or food? Or that neoliberalism led to a demographic collapse in Bulgaria, which our big capitalists and right-wing pro-Atlantic politicians want to “fix” by importing labor from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam?

Or is it “Russian disinformation” that the streets of Europe have turned into dirty ghettos, where in the evening one cannot walk peacefully without fearing that one of the “engineers and doctors” from the Middle East, invited by Angela Merkel, will attack him for 10 euros?

The truth is that the Brussels nomenclature lives in a parallel reality where everything is rosy and wonderful, and only the evil Russians stand in the way of global neoliberalism flourishing and binding. But this is not the reality in which almost half a billion European citizens live, who every day have to struggle with the rising prices of fuel, electricity, food and life. Let the European Parliament explain more about “Russian disinformation” to the hundreds of German businesses that have closed their doors or been forced to move to the US, China, India and other countries where business can still be done.

When it comes to disinformation, the European Parliament conveniently omits the lies we’ve been hearing for years about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, for example. It is now a fact of history that at the UN Colin Powell was brandishing some kind of test tube, probably with washing powder, which started the criminal invasion of Iraq, which led directly to the deaths of over 600,000 Iraqis, and indirectly to millions more from starvation, disease, terrorism and destruction of state infrastructure and institutions.

Or about the war in Afghanistan, which after 20 years of NATO terror over the local population has resulted in nothing but the return of the Taliban regime to power. Not to mention the bombing of Yugoslavia, when the US and Britain hit maternity homes and apartment blocks, killing Serbian women, children and the elderly.

The silence of the corporate media, of the BBC, Deutsche Welle, France Press, our bTV and NOVA, is disinformation, but obviously not Russian, but some other. Probably to third countries that are not located in Europe, but which today profit quite well from turning it into a deindustrialized, potential war zone.

All this raises the question of the survival of democracy and freedom of speech in our age. It is obvious that in Brussels, or rather behind bureaucratic Brussels, there are people who have an interest in abolishing freedom of speech, of thought, of association, academic freedom and every real achievement of democracy. Why? Because the happy and carefree Western liberalism of the 1950s and 1960s is no longer sustainable. The money has run out and since the high standard of living cannot be maintained by exploiting the Third World or, until recently, the disgraced Eastern Europe, draconian measures must be introduced to keep the neoliberal regime in power.

I am not a conservative, even less a rightist, but it is striking how the “democratic” European powers banned the meeting of some European conservatives and Viktor Orbán, which was supposed to take place in Brussels. Obviously, this is a feverish and almost animal fear that in the upcoming European elections the picture will change to such an extent that the foundation of the neoliberal regime in Europe will be shaken.

Bulgaria is a great example of European citizens’ dissatisfaction with the status quo. In our country, it was impressive how during Shipka’s celebrations on the occasion of March 3rd – the holiday that our local liberals wanted to ban – tens of thousands of Bulgarians booed Rosen Zhelyazkov from the ruling neoliberal coalition.

But that’s nothing. And what about the events in France, Germany or the Netherlands, where not so long ago local farmers flooded entire countries and almost ran over the authorities, blocking the capitals of those countries?

Discontent across Europe is simmering and rising, and the only sensible course of action for European and national authorities would be to encourage public debate, discussion and genuine expert opinion on pressing issues. This could defuse some of the tension, and more importantly, find answers to some of the issues that plague Europe and its citizens. Instead, European authorities apparently want to respond with repression and thinly veiled fascism.

Relying on modern technology, they hope they can turn the Old World into a digital concentration camp, where alternative media (like Pogled Info) will be banned, illiberal politicians silenced, unruly academics fired from universities, and disaffected and protesting citizens , will follow the fate of Canadian circulations during the covid crisis. Let me remind you that then the Canadian authorities blocked the accounts of protesting citizens, which is fascism par excellence, even Nazism and an absolute violation of any civil rights.

These days, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe faces great risks of being weakened in the coming years, which could lead to its collapse. Monsieur Macron is right, but of course not for the reasons he probably thinks. Europe is indeed threatened with collapse – because of the insane EU bureaucrats and neoliberal, right-wing politicians who have deindustrialized it and made it uncompetitive. As well as because of those forces that are pushing it towards a war with nuclear Russia – a conflict that Europe cannot win, but which will weaken both the EU and the Russian Federation in favor of overseas “partners”.

But there is nothing surprising here, if we remember again that corrupt officials like Ursula von der Leyen and the like are directly related to the interests of the US Democratic Party and have nothing to do with the needs and security of Europe and its citizens. So what to expect from a European Parliament in which more than 200 MEPs are supported only by George Soros?

It is time to change Europe, to put the left and the social back on the political map and kick out the neoliberal bureaucracy that serves corporations or foreign powers. This is the real network of influencers – it is located in Brussels, not elsewhere! And it’s time to go!
