N This sticker for the annual technical inspection (ATP) is starting to be placed in the lower left corner of the front panoramic glass of the car, a check by “Telegraph” found. The stickers are smaller, not punched, but have a barcode that can be read by stationary cameras. The information in it will indicate the ecocategory and the date of validity of the GTP. There is also a second sticker that is controlled and will be stuck on the card that is given after passing the vehicle inspection.

The new sticker will be stuck in the same place as from the end of 2023 – in the lower left corner of the windshield. This happened after an amendment to the Ordinance on annual technical inspections from last October, which “Telegraph” first wrote about. The new one with the barcode will be easier to read than the built-in video control systems in our country. However, according to the owners of traffic police stations and traffic police, this sticker is absolutely unnecessary, because everything about the car, the new cameras on the road rely on its registration number, and the information appears both on the tablets of the inspectors and on the computers of the employees of the automobile administration.

Reason

The general opinion is that keeping the stickers for GTP and for Civil Liability is only for the purpose of profit. “Stickers are not the reason why the price of the examination reaches BGN 100, neither is the increase in salaries. The reason is that all points retrofit them with an additional software that should automatically send a report in terms of braking efforts and in terms of gases directly to the “Automotive Administration”. Everything sounds wonderful, as long as there was no so-called cartel agreement, which obliges the stations to pay BGN 5,000 per line for a technical inspection, i.e. if you have two lines for cars and one for trucks, you pay BGN 5,000 for the software for each. This is the reason why the price of GTP will double compared to the year 2023″, engineer Georgi Iliev from “BRC Bulgaria” explained to “Telegraph”. At the beginning of April, again in front of “Telegraf”, the Secretary General of the SBA, Emil Panchev, indicated as one of the reasons for the jump the higher remuneration of the technicians who carry out the examinations.
