BTA will clean and brighten the facade and renovate and make accessible the entrances of its building in Sofia. The two BTA projects are among those approved under the “Beautiful Bulgaria” Project, part of the program of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
The three entrances to the BTA building will be renovated, and a ramp for the disabled is planned to be built at the central entrance. At the entrance to the future reading room, where visitors will have access to materials from the BTA archives, the existing ramp will be renovated. In front of the “Maxim” hall and in front of the National Press Club of BTA, platforms will be built for trouble-free access for wheelchairs for disabled people.
It is also planned to carry out a thorough cleaning of the agency’s facade and to install new lighting, which will enable the visualization of a large number of lighting scenarios.
The total value of the two projects is BGN 557,961.
The BTA building continues to be modernized in order to make it more accessible. On January 23, the newly built elevator, which gives easy access to disabled people to the National Press Club of the agency, was put into operation. The project was financed with funds from the BTA budget, with the investment amounting to just over BGN 250,000 excluding VAT. At the same time, the results of the agency’s project to improve the space in the backyard of the media building, through the construction of a new parking lot, which was built in 2023 under the “Beautiful Bulgaria” Project, were also shown. Within the framework of the project, 1,695 square meters of yard space within the boundaries of regulated BTA land was improved. The total budget of the project was BGN 255,381. Financing under the “Beautiful Bulgaria” Project was in the amount of 45% of the funds, and the agency provided the remaining 55%.
