Gallery “Spring” presents an exhibition of paintings and graphics by Dimitar Kulev. The exhibition can be viewed until June 5.
The author, who is among the well-established names in Bulgarian graphics, this time also presents himself with paintings.
Dimitar Kulev graduated from the National Academy of Arts, majoring in “Graphics” in 1979. Since then, he has participated in regional and national exhibitions in Bulgaria, representative exhibitions of Bulgarian graphics, organized by SBH in Minsk, Moscow, Bratislava, Ankara, Maastricht, Skopje.
He has been a permanent participant in the International Biennial of Graphics in Varna since its second edition, in the biennials in Kyoto, Kanagawa, Lodz, Lublin, Belgrade, Bitola and in the triennials in Sofia, Tokyo, Cairo. There are three solo exhibitions.
Dimitar Kulev is the winner of the Diploma for overall presentation at the Third Biennale of Small Forms, Pleven /2006/, of the Special Award at the International Biennale of Graphics, Varna /2007/, of the Diploma for overall presentation at the Fourth Biennale of Small Forms, Pleven /2008 /. In the same year, he received First Prize for graphics at the “Allianz Bulgaria” National Competition. In 2015, he received the First Prize for graphics at the National Graphic Exhibition named after Georgi Gerasimov, Pazardzhik, and in 2016 he also won the Grand Prize for graphics at the “Allianz Bulgaria” National Competition for Painting, Sculpture and Graphics 2015-2016.
The artist’s works are owned by the National Gallery in Sofia, the ministries of culture, finance, galleries in Dobrich, Targovishte, Razgrad, Montana and Silistra. Drawings by Dimitar Kulev are owned by two museums in Japan, as well as Maastricht, Netherlands, Ludwig Collection, Germany, Lublin, Lodz, Poland and Houston, USA.

Dimitar Kulev lives and works in Silistra. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts, majoring in graphics in 1979.
