It is forbidden to hold bird exhibitions and markets on the territory of Razgrad region as part of preventive measures against bird flu, the Regional Epizootic Commission decided at a special meeting.
The introduced biosecurity measures in industrial poultry facilities will be strengthened and implemented. The outdoor breeding of all types and categories of birds is prohibited until the cancellation of this order. In the event of any illness or death of birds, immediately notify the attending veterinarian or the mayor of the settlement. Hunters, gamekeepers, biologists, ecologists, etc. must notify the veterinary medical specialists about a change in the behavior of the birds and notice mortality in them, it was decided at the meeting, the regional administration announced.
The meeting was convened due to the outbreaks of bird flu in the country and an order of the executive director of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency with an instruction to hold regional epizootic commissions, which will be marked with specific measures to carry out enhanced information campaigns among the population.
To date, there are no declared bird flu outbreaks in the Razgrad region.
