The event was held at the Jules Pasquin Cultural Center. Over 90 children from “Sinchets” kindergarten and “Vida” branch recreated the folk custom of “lazarovan”. The girls and boys, dressed in colorful costumes, managed to recreate the atmosphere of the spring festival by singing songs, dancing and reciting poems.
Deputy Mayor Borislava Borisova congratulated the children on the wonderful performance “It is my pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Mayor of Vidin Municipality Tsvetan Tsenkov and personally on my own behalf with the celebration of Lazarov Day – one of the best spring holidays. Dear teachers, you educate our children from a young age to love and respect Bulgarian traditions and customs. In this way, our national creativity and Bulgarianness are preserved,” said Borisova and used the occasion to congratulate the upcoming bright Christian holidays. She wished that there would be peace, love and warmth in every home. The performers from the children’s dance group of the Ensemble for folk songs and dances “Danube” with choreographer Dimitar Karchev took a special part in the celebration.
