Competitors from TC “Falcon”, part of the national team, who represented Blagoevgrad and Bulgaria worthily during a European competition in Koper, Slovenia, were solemnly welcomed during a meeting of the Municipal Council – Blagoevgrad.

A total of 16 medalists were awarded with certificates by the mayor of Blagoevgrad, Metodi Baikushev, the chairman of the Municipal Council, Radoslav Taskov, and the chairman of the Sports Committee of the ObS, Blagovest Stoitsov.

The champions, together with the head coach of the national team, Todor Kozladerov, also received a special plaque for a worthy performance during the European Championship in Slovenia and for contribution to the development of sports in the municipality of Blagoevgrad.

“This success is something significant as an achievement and is due to this community that has been created around the taekwondo club in Blagoevgrad. A community that shares not only the tremendous hard work required to achieve these successes, but also shares common values, friendship, love for the city, honor. We are extremely proud! The success is all yours, the joy remains for us. I wish you many more successes in controversial fields, but also success in life,” said Mayor Metodi Baikushev.

Lyubomir Bakalski, Kiril Iliev Nikolay, Nikola Nikolov, Deni Velev, Anton Ogorelkov, Lyubomir Drakaliyski, Rami Shau, Neli Todorova, Hana Koshutarska, Dragomir Palankaliyev, Alexander Mihailov, Nikolay Angelov, Kristiyan Ranchov, Deyan Valev, Georgi Ridarski and the coach were ceremoniously awarded Todor Kozladerov.

The Bulgarian ITF Taekwondo national team won 14 gold, 8 silver and 42 bronze medals during the European Championships in Koper, Slovenia.

At the head of the Bulgarian delegation during the championship was the president of the Bulgarian Federation and vice-president of the European Federation Mario Bogdanov, the vice-president of the Central Kostadin Dimitrov, as well as Virgilii Sitnilski – vice-president of the tournament and referee commissions at the EITF and member of the tournament commission at the ITF.
