The rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozov, MD, welcomed the little lazars from the “Alen Mak” Kindergarten, Sarafovo quarter.
The event was attended by Deputy the rector for quality of education, accreditation and personnel Prof. Dr. Irena Markovska, deputy. the Rector for Scientific Research Assoc. Dr. Svetlana Zheleva, the managements of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Public Health and Healthcare, teachers and students.
Dressed in folk costumes and with colorful wreaths on their heads, the little girls sang ritual Lazarus songs, wishing for health, fertility, happiness, prosperity and fulfillment of the most cherished hopes and dreams. They were accompanied by Rositsa Topalova, director of the kindergarten and teachers.
The management of FOZZG, who are also the initiators of the event, presented the children with bread for health, Easter eggs and treats.
Foreign medical students were also pleasantly impressed by the custom we have in our country. They wanted to take a picture with the little lazarkas to seal this moment in memory.
After the demonstration, the children visited offices where medical students are trained. There, Assoc. Dr. Varvara Pancheva, who is the dean of the Faculty of Education, introduced them to the activities of conducting practical classes for students.
The director of the kindergarten shared a magic with them. She told them that if they touched the chair in one of the offices they would return in years to the University to study and become good doctors.
The children were very impressed. They filled the halls and corridors of the Faculty of Medicine with bells and voices.
The management of the university, teachers and students wished to have more such events to maintain the positive atmosphere in the higher education institution.
