The “Remember the Heroes” bike ride from Ruse to Gyurghevo, which was postponed due to bad weather, will take place tomorrow, remind the organizers from VMRO and the “Velo Ruse” association.
The bike ride will start at 10 a.m. from “Vazrozhdenski” square in front of the Pantheon of the Revivalists in Ruse and will move in an organized manner along the following route: Pantheon of the Revivalists – “Saedinenie” Blvd. – St. Naum”, “Pliska” Blvd. – “Tutrakan” Blvd. – Ruse-Giurgevo border crossing, to the central market in the Romanian city and back.
Participants must have reflective vests and valid documents (identity card or international passport). Children and youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Ruse cycling enthusiasts can join the sports initiative without prior registration.
The event is dedicated to the 148th anniversary of the heroic April epic and the feat of Hristo Botev’s squad. In Gyurghevo, participants will visit the place where the Gyurghevo Revolutionary Committee met and the decision to organize the April Uprising was made, marked with a memorial plaque, as well as the port of Gyurghevo, from where Hristo Botev and his squad boarded the Radetsky ship.
