“Ivan Vazov” Elementary School – Smolyan solemnly celebrated 45 years since its establishment

Secretary Momchil Nikolov today congratulated the students, teachers and parents of the “Ivan Vazov” – Smolyan Primary School on the occasion of 45 years since the creation of the innovative educational institution. “With its healthy traditions, dynamic present and promising future, the “Ivan Vazov” primary school has always been a pride and an example, both for the Municipality of Smolyan and for the Middle Rhodope region. Teachers and students take the wisdom of time and boldly cross the threshold of modern times, with all its novelties and challenges,” Nikolov pointed out in his speech. He wished everyone health, new achievements and luck in every endeavor. The students should carry with pride the ideals and patriotism of their famous patron Ivan Vazov, announced the press center of the Municipality.

Greetings on the occasion of the anniversary of the school were sent by the chairman of the Municipal Council Dimitar Katsarov and Teodora Shtereva, senior expert at the RUO – Smolyan.

Rositsa Lakudova, the director of the school, gave an exciting speech. She pointed out that 45 years are enough for thousands of students to pass through the school and leave their contribution to its development. The achievements of the young people of Vazovo in the field of education and training, culture, arts and sports are numerous. “During these academic years, our students represented our school and the Smolyan region with dignity in the national stages of Olympiads and competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. We are proud of the ranked students at the national stage in all subject areas. “Ivan Vazov” Elementary School is officially recognized at the European level as a role model and we are successfully partnering in European projects”, announced Lakudova.

She recalled that since 2017, the school has been the first innovative school in the Smolyan region. In it, traditions and innovation intertwine into unity. In the school, every generation is brought up in a patriotic Vazov spirit, the best school in terms of morality, for which Lakudova thanks all teachers – current and former for their efforts, efforts and dedication.

The eventful “Vazova Week”, dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the establishment of “Ivan Vazov” Primary School – Smolyan, was filled with many initiatives. Students, teachers and parents participated in them.
