690 children were evacuated from SU “Vasil Levski” after an “earthquake”

The area was cordoned off by police teams for the exercise

690 children from SU “Vasil Levski” in ruse were evacuated this morning after “earthquake” and a “fire” followed. The situation was acted out as part of a hands-on disaster response exercise.

According to the scenario, it was necessary to additionally remove 10 students and one teacher from the fourth floor using the emergency ladder of fire departmentso as they were blocked by “flames”. Four people were rescued after being “overwhelmed” by earthquakeit, Ruse Media reported.

Teams of the Regional Directorate “Fire station safety and protection of the population” – ruseteams from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – ruseRC 112, from the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance in the city, Bulgarian Red Cross, Municipality ruse – municipal police officers and members of the voluntary formation.

The purpose of the exercise was to play out on the ground all actions in the event of earthquakein order to check the preparedness and upgrade the abilities of the bodies and structures to react and interact in a critical situation, as well as in mastering the possible consequences of such a natural disaster.
